Watch this space!

We are now having a rest for Christmas and New Year.

There will be a visit to Normanton early in 2008 (possibly first week) to organise any additional costumes we may need but the date & time are still to be arranged. I will post on here as soon as I have a date & time.

Happy Christmas and a successful 2008 to everyone!

Good Progress

I am very impressed by the younger children's ability to pick up songs and directions quickly. They give a much "fuller" sound when they join in the songs than when it is just the adults alone.

There is NO REHEARSAL Tuesday 11th December.

The next reahersal is Sunday 16th December 2:30 pm. Children will finish at about 4:00, adults will finish at about 4:30 pm.

If you have any props or costume items please bring them and use them on stage so you get accustomed to using them.

Costumes

Costumes
I have been in contact with the lady from Normanton group to arrange hire of any costumes we may need. She suggests early in 2008, after 3rd January. I will probably arrange a visit on Saturday 6th January in the morning.
There is no rehearsal Sunday 2nd December due to the St Ignatius Christmas Fair.

Progress with the songs

Today we had the pleasure of David Hutchinson accompanying our singers. The majority of the songs have been selected and tried-out by the cast without any disasters or refusals!
Unfortunately due to pressure of work Chris Kyle has had to decline the Old Man. Happily Liz Kitson has stepped in and I'm sure she'll do a good job with the Old Man (or Woman?).

Next rehearsal is Tuesday 23rd October 7:00 - 9:00 pm. The main actors are required. There will be no music.

The same evening at 7:30 there will be a meeting of the set design / art team. We have a new volunteer - Andrew Dunn. At 8:00 there will be a meeting of the costume dept.

Quality not quantity!

First read-through for Joe McCarthy as Berne. He will work well with Gordone, I think. Not a large turnout but all who were needed turned up promptly.

Next meeting is Tuesday 9th October 7:00 - 9:00.
Required: Principal Characters.
Not required: Villagers, Dancers.

To avoid spoilers for the public - the full script is not available for download.

However if you are a member of the cast email me on martin@dearnleys.co.uk & I will email you a copy of the script by return.
